this is where i'm collecting (most of) my favorite art
and photography pieces, arranged in reverse chronological order.
higher-res versions of (some of) this stuff can be found on my Bluesky. a
few of the drawings have mild gore or eyestrain-y colors. if you steal
my work i'm stealing something out your house.
the date on this is so wrong. i finished it on March 21, 2025. no i don't know why i wrote a 3. anyway Landon is one of the protags of Scam Likely, an seS book whose elevator pitch is in the
archive! someday the whole book will be there too. this drawing is Landon as an adult but they've basically always been goth.
Alma's new-and-improved outfit, in a ref-turned-full-drawing. she's on planet disco in the bisexual galaxy, where everything is bisexual colored and disco is forever. it's not actually canon, but one can imagine... anyway, Alma used to be the demon of the evil eye (that ref is also in this gallery), but she's now the youngest Mahyet, at a fresh 100,000 years old. if you can correctly guess what she's the Mahyet of you get a sticker. finished February 17, 2025.
i took a photograph of the Hirshhorn Museum in DC and got inspired. each symbol represents a different oc. from L-R top to bottom the characters are: Iyannah, Iothem, Araminta, Vetch,
Sevokh,
Larry, Croix, Alma, PJ, Ergasti, Plug Two,
Dimitri,
Landon,
Veritable, Russ, Ricardo, Tyrenée, Kareis, and Luvia. there are a few ocs who haven't been mentioned anywhere else on the site — why don't you try guessing what their symbols mean? finished February 1, 2025.
drew Veritable as the Godpoke from Great God Grove because they look so similar. the date next to the signature is a mistake... i actually finished this January 20, 2025.
Veritable's profile picture! that's a senet board on his desk. it's an ancient Egyptian game that got carried over to Sekharu. finished January 10, 2025.
i don't be drawing ref sheets because i either don't feel like it or they feel unhelpful (i change up character lore really fast), but the brainworms didn't give me a choice this time. and i don't regret it!
finished this "sketch" of Kareis (viya of enSekharu funerary practices) on December 7, 2024. right after, i decided that she has ceramic-like skin, so it's a little outdated. still cool, though.
putting their pfp here too so i can have all my art in one place. finished November 25, 2024.
PJ is the Mahyet (god-like deity) of the earth, and her Bantu knots are made of spherical objects that can only be found on earth. i struggled with picking colors for this piece but i still like it. finished on October 30, 2024.
Dimitri's projection doesn't get this big canonically, but i often draw non-canon stuff intentionally. it looks cooler this way lol. finished on September 26, 2024.
Plug Two drawn as an iDog based on
girlboyburger's base. i bought the base but i still haven't used it. i wasn't in a digital art mood at the time lol. finished on September 17, 2024.
another iDog P2. finished on September 17, 2024.
Araminta's the netheir of music and dance, and she's dressed like a traditional enSekharu dancer. the caption is written in khS (although I need to update the alphabet). on the right it says Araminta and on the left it says powimati (pretty dancer). finished September 15, 2024.
my first drawing of iDog P2, and my first time using alcohol markers. finished on September 14, 2024.
Landon used to be a janitor in Vampire AU. this is honestly the best i've drawn its hair so far. finished on September 14, 2024.
finished this drawing of Croix, the Mahyet of the sun, on February 2, 2024. i was inspired by the symbol for laser hazards. her hairstyle's not canon anymore because i decided she should have wicks, but this is one of my favorite drawings ever.
this was inspired by the symbol for fire hazards. i gave Russ his Pokémon: Falling Stars (longfic WIP I have yet to talk about fr on here) haircut. finished on January 30, 2024.
a more realistic drawing of Russ, this time of him in Vampire AU. i was testing out a new coloring style and i popped off tbh. i was so excited to finish it i was working on it in class, painting with my trackpad lol. finished November 9, 2023.
when i began taking t shots it felt like the best thing ever, so I drew a self-portrait about it. finished November 6, 2023.
the first time i drew Larry i knew i had to make her as rectangular as possible. finished August 6, 2023.
meme redraw! finished August 3, 2023.
i drew this as a potential weapon for Alma back when she used to be the demon of the evil eye. in 2024 i renamed demons to viya and made her the Mahyet of the moon. curse energy isn't a thing in seS either. finished on July 29, 2023.
i finished the Great Cities duology by NK Jemisin in 2023 and i love most everything about those books, but i got ultra brainworms about Manny. and then i saw this tumblr meme with that line, and i mean, how could i not draw him saying that? it's so fitting lol. finished July 17, 2023.
i was not immune to drawing fanart of Hobie in a wacky art style — twice! this is the second version. finished June 11, 2023.
first version of my Hobie fanart. finished June 10, 2023.
this was my first time drawing a background. it was supposed to be the street that Dimitri lived on, but partway through i realized the architecture wasn't fleshed out enough to draw that accurately, and also that i didn't feel like making the buildings fancier so it just turned into... a pretty street, i guess. i wanna draw more backgrounds like this at some point; lately adding details hasn't bothered me as much as it used to. finished May 23, 2023.
i love this drawing because it conceals how much Dimitri sucks. i made it because my friend Phoenix called him dimidimi and i just had to draw the visual manifestation of that. finished May 21, 2023.
drew this to give myself some personal reminders. i made a slightly different version to use as a wallpaper on PC.
ref sheet from when Alma was a demon, although it doesn't really feel like one because i got really into using Krita's impressionist brush lol. finished April 20, 2023.
another coloring experiment. when seS was called the Flipside, Sekharu used to have its own martial art and this was the first-place trophy for the biggest tournament. it's not really canon anymore but i wanna bring the ideas back somehow. finished April 2, 2023.
Ibrahim is a side character that i haven't figured out what to do with in seS. all i know is he's Ivan's twin brother (i have a lot of twins lol) and he has cool lava powers. finished March 6, 2023.
you know what to do. finished February 26, 2023.
Landon in their true form except they're otamatone-shaped. this was the first thing i drew in Krita; previously i'd been using Medibang. finished February 18, 2023.
this pose was inspired by a statue i saw at a museum once. finished February 4, 2023.
drew this back when Dimitri was a twink. the color palette is inspired by the painting
Salome by Henry Ossawa Tanner. i wanna redraw the anatomy someday but this highkey my favorite background ever. finished on January 30, 2023.
Kris! finished January 8, 2023.
drew my friend
Yonah's OC, the Anomaly, and her dope ass katana. finished January 3, 2023.
playing fast and loose with the definition of photography here. really it's just anything that I made with a trackpad/mouse (except for that one Russ piece but whatever) and/or photographed myself.
this statue is called "Pyramid" and it was made by Sam Gilliam in 2020. it was part of the Met's Flight Into Egypt exhibit, which was about how modern Black artists interpret ancient Egypt via art... just like me!
this sculpture is called "Nefertiti (Black Power)" by Awol Erizku. it was also in the Flight Into Egypt exhibit. i lowkey fucked up the angle on this one but taking pics at the museum is hard. i can't stand in the same spot forever or i'll get in people's way! anyway, i tried my best and that's what matters.
da Met!
i'm posting 4 versions of this photo because i like them all a lot. the art piece i photographed is "This Present Moment" by Alicia Eggert.
went ham with the gradient maps for the green versions of this.
the art i photographed is "Volume (Renwick)" by Leo Villareal.
this was a photograph of 1.8 Renwick, but i fucked around and... made it a lot better than it looked before, to be honest, because the original photo just wasn't good.
used this screenshot of Vincent from Ergo Proxy to experiment with threshold and binarization. finished January 3, 2025.
the Hirshhorn photograph without the oc stuff over it.
shout out to noise textures gotta be one of my favorite genders fr
alternate version of an older collage. i threw this together for an assignment on August 9, 2024.
the banner for my longfic WIP Pokémon: Falling Stars. someday i'll introduce it properly here but it's based on Pokémon Sun and features Russ, Larry, Croix and Ricardo. finished December 29, 2023.
one of my bestest photos ever.
i balanced these rocks myself, but i don't remember how many tries it took.
first version of this photo.
second version of this photo. i'd originally been going for that black and white color pop look (a recurring theme in my photos lol), but i made this version by accident and it turned out really good so i kept it.
you're telling me a canada placed this building?
i made this to accompany a story i wrote for Blacktober 2022. i don't plan to post it on Sekh-net but it featured Russ because he used to be an arsonist. finished October 12, 2022.
mobile wallpaper i made for myself. MF DOOM's one of my favorite rappers lol. finished September
16, 2022.
took a few flower photos to test my phone's night mode.
i experimented with filters in this photo too.
one of those photos i went back and edited again after seeing ways i could improve it. i did that on January 7, 2025, but the original photo is a lot older.
how many Kendricks does it take to change a lightbulb? one, but it's gonna take forever because he started taking pictures with it...
alternate version of the lightbulb photograph.
my absolute favorite photograph of mine. someone once said it looked 3d-rendered and i wear that compliment like a badge of honor.
taken at the same place as the polestar photo.
just another pretty skyline photo.
i had a lot of laughs around this campfire. we might've made s'mores with it, i don't remember.
bet you're wondering what's inside this spooky ass barn, aren't you? and why it's covered in handprints? the answer is: [redacted]
kept two version of this photo because i like both equally. i explored gradient mapping and blending layers a bunch with this batch.
definitely one of my favorite photos from this batch. seeing marcher arrant stickers around the place was cool.
same photo but without the gradient map and threshold adjustment layers, in case people are curious what it originally looked like.
i don't know/remember what this building was originally used for. i guess it was someone's house?
i fought photopea's "refine edges" function and won.
crazy how you can still see the moon during the day...
this one was a bitch to edit but it turned out way better than my first attempt so it's fine. anyway, i love photographing graffiti because sometimes it's weird or mysterious, and sometimes it's surprisingly encouraging. we should live like there is no tomorrow! fuck it!
i think this was one of my friends' favorite photos from this batch, which is awesome.
my friend Rose was struck by the "FEAR GOD" graffiti. the "Fuck EvrBody", and the fact that the photo is grayscale, reminds me of wacced out murals by Kendrick Lamar. my favorite song off the whole album to be honest.
same picture of that railroad, from a different spot.
this my favorite lock photo by far. haven't seen a lock with cracks like that before or since.
imagine if they said no...
i had to take this for an assignment. very old photo, but i still like it a lot.
this my oldest collage (that i'd like to post) by far. it's so old it has my old signature... but i think i did a good job! the quote is from the book The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon. a short little novel about a post office conspiracy — definitely worth a read.
this photo's so old i don't even know when it was taken. 2019, i guess
